Così come rughe o cicatrici costituiscono una testimonianza del passaggio del tempo e delle esperienze dell'uomo, allo stesso modo usura e difetti sono sintomatici dell'evoluzione e dell'unicità dell’insieme che compone l’abitato. Le irregolarità divengono elementi narrativi, che raccontano il vissuto specifico dello spazio, che ne esplicitano le peculiarità e l'uso che ne è stato fatto: così, l'imperfezione, diviene un valore da ricercare e che conferisce bellezza.

Il difetto, quindi, viene assunto come sinonimo di reale, naturale, inevitabile, umano ed attribuire valore a questo vizio significa essere capaci di progettare uno spazio capace di invecchiare, di modificarsi e riadattarsi a nuove realtà.

Il progetto assimila ed accoglie le difformità e le esplicita nel legno delle travi, nei laterizi delle muratura, nelle strutture e nelle atmosfere originarie.

Just as wrinkles or scars are a testimony to the passage of time and human experience, so too wear and defects are symptomatic of the evolution and the uniqueness of the whole that makes up the inhabited space. The irregularities become narrative elements, which tell the specific experience of space, which make explicit its peculiarities and the use that has been made of it: thus, imperfection becomes a value to be sought and which gives beauty.

The defect, therefore, is assumed as a synonym of real, natural, inevitable, human and to attribute value to this vice means to be able to design a space capable of aging, of changing and adapting to new realities.

The project assimilates and accepts the differences and explicates them in the wood of the beams, in the masonry bricks, in the original structures and atmospheres.
